Shlokas-Hymns-Namas
In Sanatana Dharma, Slokas, Stotras, and Namas are fundamental tools for devotion and spiritual growth. They are referred to as "Sabda Brahman" (the Divine manifested as Sound).
Slokas: These are usually verses written in Sanskrit, intended to praise the Divine, impart wisdom, and help focus the mind. They serve as daily reminders of truth and righteousness. (e.g., verses from the Bhagavad Gita).
Stotras: These are hymns composed to glorify the attributes, deeds, and forms of the Divine. They are powerful tools for cultivating deep devotion and surrender. (e.g., Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram, Shiva Ashtakam).
Namas: Repeating the names of the Divine. Chanting (Nama Sankirtana) is considered one of the simplest and most effective ways to purify the mind, reduce stress, and achieve spiritual connection.
