Do's in Sanatana Dharma


Speaking the Truth (Satyam): Being honest at all times and speaking only the truth is the most fundamental duty (Dharma).

Non-violence (Ahimsa): Refraining from causing harm to any living being, whether through words or actions.

Protection of Dharma (Dharma Rakshana): Performing our responsibilities correctly. "Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah" means that if we protect Dharma, that Dharma will in turn protect us.

Purity and Cleanliness (Shuchi): Keeping the body clean externally and the mind pure internally (free from evil thoughts).

Charity and Service (Dana & Seva): Feeding the hungry, helping those in need, and participating in social service.

Devotion to Teachers and Parents (Guru-Pitru Bhakti): Respecting parents, teachers, and elders, and seeking their blessings.

Surrender to the Divine (Ishvara Pranidhana): Maintaining divine consciousness in daily life and focusing the mind through prayer or meditation.

The World is One Family (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam): Loving everyone with the feeling that all living beings in the world belong to a single family.
